The British Red Cross (BRC) helps people in crisis, whoever and wherever they are. We are part of a global voluntary network, responding to conflicts, natural disasters and individual emergencies. We enable vulnerable people in the UK and abroad to prepare for and withstand emergencies in their own communities. Once the crisis is over, we help them in their recovery and rehabilitation.

As part of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent movement, the world’s largest independent humanitarian network, the BRC is bound by, and committed to its fundamental principles: humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity and universality.

British Red Cross is seeking a consultant to lead on the change management for our Country Consortium in Nepal.

Purpose of the Change Management Consultancy

Reporting to the Heads of Region, the Change Management Consultant (CMC) will work in direct coordination with the Country Managers to facilitate the change management process to merge the programs, assets, systems, human resources, structure, compliance and reporting mechanism of the American, British, Canadian and Danish Red Cross in Nepal. This includes the development of an organizational structure of merged and united country missions, defined deliverables to enable the merger, create and oversee work-plans for implementation and their execution through work-streams.

Consultant Specification

Consultant Qualifications

· Education: Master’s Degree or equivalent in Management Studies, Organizational Development or a related field, with:

· At least 7 years demonstrated knowledge and experience in conducting and facilitating organizational restructuring.

· Previous experience with and understanding of the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement is desirable.

· Ability to conduct strategic reviews, develop organizational structures to align with organizational strategy.

· Solid understanding of a ‘holistic’ approach to change.

· A solid understanding of how people and organizations go through a change and the change process

· Experience of change management methodologies and tools.

· Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.

· Excellent analytical and report writing skills.

· Excellent financial management and budget analysis skills.

· Active listening skills and ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of

· audiences in simple ways.

· Strong relationship and diplomacy skills.

· Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal.

· Flexible and adaptable and able to work in ambiguous situations

· Proven ability to handle highest level of confidentiality and sensitivity.

· Fluency in written and spoken English,

· Strong coordination and facilitation skills, including proven ability to design and facilitate workshops and cross-cultural processes
